At last year's L.A. Poker Classic (won by Alan Goehring), 379 out of 652 starters survived the first day of action or roughly 58% of the field. If 58% of the field busts on Day 1 in this year's even, there will be 459 happy players who make it to Day 2.

Consultation with the Tournament Director confirms that the pace is running behind expectations. With 560 players remaining, we probably will not reach the hoped for 400 players tonight and therefore we can expect another long day tomorrow.
