On a board of , JC Tran checks, Jacobo Fernandez (pictured right) bets 10,000, and JC Tran makes it 30,000 almost immediately. Fernandez min raises right back to 60,000. JC Tran calls. The turn is the , putting a flush out there. JC Tran checks, and Jacobo takes about 5 full minutes before checking. The river is the , and JC bets out enough to put Jacobo all in. Jacobo goes in the tank for another long time, but eventually calls. JC turns up , and Jacobo flips over for the winner.
The pot is close to 400,000. JC Tran is down to about 350,000, and Jacobo is the chip leader.
An unknown player (OK, he wishes to remain nameless) loses a pot to a runner, runner double belly buster straight. As he shoves his chips to the winning player:
"Thank you Sir, I needed that slap in the face to get myself going today. It's either that or claim I fathered Anna Nicole's kid."
We lost 27 players during our first 90 minute level today.
At this pace we are all getting a semi-early night.
But that does not factor in the "near the money slowdown"
This event will pay 54 places. See Prize Pool and Payouts on the right.
Jacobo Fernandez is on a tear. He busted Ari Goott after both players flopped sets. Fernandez had Q-Q and Goot had J-J. They both tried to slow play each other. Fernandez shoved on the river and Goott called. Fernandez is up to 590K.
Several players have refused interviews with media because yesterday Shannon Shorr agreed to an interview with a few minutes left in a round and then busted before the end of the round and the scheduled interview.
