The first lull of the day has set upon the ballroom. With several of the smaller stacks out of the way, the remaining players are playing poker. Slow and methodical poker. It's not an all-in push monkey festival like I had seen at other tournaments. It's relatively quiet in the room with the exception of the clattering of chips and the cigarette girl wandering though the tables hawking her goodies.

Bill Edler and Kristy Gazes have been dominating their table for the past hour. Bill is really running over the opposition and is up to 380K; Kristy after taking a couple of big hits has also turned it around and is up to 225K.
Well not today. But apparently Barry Greenstein has received one, and only one, penalty during a tournament in his life. Coincidently, it was here at the Commerce. And no, he didn't drop the F-bomb. He got the penalty for being...well Barry. At the time, the felts here had some slope to them. When he went to muck his cards, they didn't quite make it over the felt mountain. In an effort to help the dealer, who was having trouble reaching the mucked cards, Barry flicked them toward the box. Unfortunately they shot into the dealer's tray, which earned Greenstein a time out. So Barry apparently got a penalty for being helpful.
