Yesterday, Bill was unhappy with his play in the early evening but kept his cool and his patience and then played a pair of pocket rockets perfectly to double up and put himself back near the top of the leaderboard. Late steady play rewarded Bill with the top spot entering today's Day Four.
Known to the poker media as one of the truly good guys on the poker circuit, Bill lives in Las Vegas with his new wife and daughter. They were married this past summer on the eve of the 2006 WSOP.
About the only leak detectable in Bill's game is a fundamental math problem. Bill likes to keep his stacks in exact sizes and is often seen trading chips with other players to maintain a uniformity of chip stacks and colors. When asked about this behavior: superstition? artistic merit? witchcraft? Bill responded: "No, I just am not very good at math. Earlier today I forget whether I had 260,000 or 360,000. The well ordered stacks are because I can't count."
