Sheibani Doubles Through Mizrachi

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Behrooz Sheibani has just doubled up through Michael Mizrachi, proving Mizrachi is actually beatable.

Sheibani opened the middle position then called as Mizrachi three-bet enough to put his opponent all-in. Sheibani showed {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and was up against the {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} of Mizrachi.

Sheibani would go on to win the coinflip as the board ran out {q-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and he doubled to around 10,000. Meanwhile Mizrachi drops to 88,000.

Tyurin Shrouded

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Giuseppe Pantaleo fired a bet of 2,350 on a {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop and only Nikolay Tyurin made the call to see the {4-Diamonds} on the turn, which didn't seem to change much.

Tyurin checked and Pantaleo bet 4,900 but Tyurin moved all in for just over 20,000 - the Italian quickly beat him into the pot.

Tyurin: {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} top pair, gutshot and flush draw.
Pantaleo: {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flopped straight.

The river was the {10-Hearts} and Tyurin improved his hand, but not by enough to survive.

Pollak Poleaxed

Benjamin Pollak has been eliminated for the second time in the WPT Merit Cyprus Classic and will have to wait a little longer for his first WPT title.

His next shot to do that, on European soil, will be at the upcoming WPT Grand Prix de Paris on September 10.

Ziyard Runs Into Kings

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Zimnan Ziyard has been left nursing a short stack after running his pocket jacks into the kings of Christopher Thomson.

Thomson was in the cutoff and Ziyard the big blind when a preflop raising war broke out that resulted in Thomson being all-in. Thomson showed {k-Spades}{K-Hearts} to Ziyard's {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} and when the board ran out {9-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} Thomason doubled up and Ziyard has a mighty task on his hands to rebuild his decimated stack.

Mizrachi Drops Further

It's not been a good last couple of levels for Michael Mizrachi. "The Grinder" was facing a 7,000 bet on the turn of an {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts} board against Noshrivan Gadeliya.

Mizrachi min-raised to 14,000 but Gadeliya quickly pushed for about 45,000 in total. The American folded and Gadeliya showed an ace to which Mizrachi replied with a nod and a thumbs up.

Belluscio Caught Bluffing

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Julio Belluscio continues to entertain, he tried a 5,250 bet on the river of an {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{A-Clubs}{5-Clubs} board against Johan Guilbert but the latter was not a believe and made the call.

Belluscio showed {A-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Guilbert claimed this pot with a measly, but good enough, {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.
