Solis Doubles Through Stewart

Jake Solis got all his money into the middle holding {A-Spades} {7-Spades} on a flop showing {5-Spades} {K-Hearts} {K-Spades}. He was looked up by Ty Stewart who tabled {K-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} for trips.

Stewart held the lead through the turn after the {10-Diamonds} rolled off the deck, but the {2-Spades} on the river gave Solis the pot-clinching spade flush.

After the hand, Solis improved to approximately 340,000 in chips.

Binger Thought it Was a Bad Beat

Micheal Binger made the action 23,000 to go before Stewart decided to come along. The flop came {J-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {6-Hearts}, and was checked over to Binger. Binger bet 25,000 and Stewart called. The turn brought the {6-Diamonds} and a check from Stewart, followed by a bet of 55,000 from Binger. The river brought the {6-Clubs} and both players checked. Binger remarked, "I just took the worst beat I've seen." He showed his {4-Spades} {4-Diamonds} for a flopped set and was surprised to take it down as Stewart mucked.

Chip counts after the hand:

Micheal Binger 550,000
Ty Stewart 1,150,000

Dictating the Action

Ty Stewart
Ty Stewart
Ty Stewart is absolutely rolling over this final table in a Jamie Gold-like fashion. A combination of hyper-aggressive play and a run of good cards has propelled him from 275,500 in chips, where he started the day, to almost 1.35 million!

Perhaps more impressive is Stewart's roller coaster ride on Day 2. Chip leader for a significant portion of the day, Stewart eventually dropped to as low as 23,000 in chips, but eventually recovered to finish the day ranked 4th overall heading into the final table.

It'll take an awful lot to slow down the bulldozer that has become Ty Stewart.

Mike McClain Eliminated in 4th Place ($53,777)

Mike McClain
Mike McClain
Looking like it would be a family pot with everybody limping, Mike Mclain bumped the action to 44,000. He received one caller in the form of Ty Stewar. The two saw the flop come {10-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {5-Hearts}. McClain lead out with 50,000 and Stewart came along. The turn brought the {7-Diamonds} and proved to be the spot where the money would go in. McClain's all in was called as soon as he started his motion. McClain was behind holding {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}, while Stewart tabled the {8-Clubs} {9-Clubs} for the jack high straight. The river was the {A-Spades}, ending the day for 'the face of agony' . Stewart is up to 1,200,000 after the hand and McClain will take home $53,777.

Stewart Wins Pivotal Pot from Binger

Chip leader Ty Stewart
Chip leader Ty Stewart
Ty Stewart just took down a monster pot against Michael Binger to further increase his chip lead over the field.

Preflop, Stewart tried to open with a raise to 15,000, but Binger corrected him, saying the raise had to be a minimum of 16,000. The dealer supported Binger and Stewart was forced to toss in another 1,000 chip to make it 16,000 total. Binger made the call from the small blind and Mike McClain came along for the ride in the big.

The flop came {5-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {2-Clubs} and Binger opened with a 28,000 bet. McClain folded and when the action landed on Stewart, he raised, making it a total of 75,000 to go; Binger made the call.

The {Q-Diamonds} rolled off on the turn and Binger check-called a 75,000 bet from Stewart which took us to the river: {Q-Hearts}.

Binger checked once more and Stewart fired a massive 150,000 bet. Binger folded, telling the table that he had an open-ended straight flush draw; Stewart did not reveal his hand.

Afterwards, Binger dropped to about 479,000 in chips while Stewart improved to over 845,000.

Tay Nguyen Eliminated in 5th Place ($40,653)

Tay Nguyen
Tay Nguyen
Tay Nguyen open shoved for his last 51,000 as action folded around. Mike McClain, on the button, called quickly and tabled {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} .

Nguyen, short stack by a big margin, made his stand with {10-Clubs} {K-Clubs}. The flop kept the underdog Nguyen optimistic as it was spread {9-Spades} {8-Clubs} {9-Clubs}, and the turn kept the anticipation alive as it hit {8-Hearts}.

With the {7-Diamonds} leaving Nguyen's draw coming up short, he received a big round of applause from the gallery for his best finish to date. Nguyen will take home $40,653 marking his accomplishment.
