Day 1 in the Books

After seven levels of play, 88 players will be moving on to Day 2 of the Main Event here at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Dwyte Pilgrim, Justin Bonomo, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, David "The Dragon" Pham, Tony Dunst, Matt Brady, and Kathy Liebert are among the big names moving on to the second day. Pilgrim already holds two WSOP-C championship rings and will be going for his third. He'll come into tomorrow with 99,300 chips.

Our chip leader is Jeremiah "dantes" Degreef with 152,600 chips. He was able to fly under the radar most of the day, but then boosted his stack nicely in the last level. Degreef won the $2,000 prelim event here a couple days ago for just under $70,000. Steven Fung, David Pham, and Amir Vahedi also have some nice stacks going into tomorrow.

With just over half the field removed from play, the plan is to play another seven levels tomorrow. Play will resume at 12:00 noon local time tomorrow and we'll be posting all the seating assignments and official chip counts once received.

See you all tomorrow for another great day of poker from right here at Caesars Palace Las Vegas!
