Ratcliff Falling Off

We pick up a heads-up contest with the flop showing {4-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {9-Spades}. The player first to act checked, and Mike Ratcliff put out a bet of 6,000 which his opponent called.

The turn card was the {2-Hearts}, and both players checked. The river brought the {Q-Clubs}. This time, the player in middle position led out with a bet of 13,000. Ratcliff lamented, "Oh, I let you get there," before splashing the call into the pot.

Ratcliff turned over his {K-Hearts} {J-Hearts}, only to see that he was behind his opponent's {K-Diamonds} {K-Spades} the whole way. After that misstep, Mike has slipped back to 48,000.

Walsh Doubles with Ducks

Daniel Walsh pounded the table in delight after he saw his opponent's cards on the board of {J-Spades} {9-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {3-Hearts}. The two were all in with Walsh's tournament on the line.

Walsh held a set of deuces against the other player's {J-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}. The river was a meaningless {7-Diamonds} and Walsh was able to earn the double up. He slapped hands with one of his friends and sat back down to collect his new chips. He has around 105,000 now.
