Johnston Eliminates Opponent

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Andrew Watson started the action by raising to 9,000 from late position and a player moved all in on the button for his last 15,000. Berry Johnston isolated from the big blind, raising to around 90,000, and Watson flashed {10-}{10-} before folding.

"I've never folded a hand that big in my life," he joked.

Opponent: {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Johnston: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Johnston was behind, but caught up when the flop came {7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. Neither the turn ({7-Clubs}) nor river ({8-Diamonds}) changed anything and Johnston successfully knocked out his opponent and chipped up to 170,000.

Gibralter Growing

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The board read {8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Michael Stemberg checked to Jeff Gibralter who bet 52,500 into a pot of around 60,000. Stemberg tank-called and Gibralter flipped over {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for a straight.

"Nice hand," Stemberg said while mucking his cards.

Gibralter continues to add to his stack and now has 460,000 chips.

Seiwert Doubles

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

When we arrived at Table 33 all the damaged had already been done. Waves of chips were being pushed towards Neal Seiwert, he had {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} sitting in front of him and the board read {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}.

Apparently he and his opponent got it all in on the flop, his opponent had a lesser pair and after holding Seiwert now has 325,000 chips.

Glover Doubles Ruppert

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Lyle Glover opened to 10,500 from middle position before Aaron Ruppert three-bet to 26,500 from the big blind. Glover asked how much Ruppert had behind, and the dealer estimated it to be around 73,000. Glover moved all in for effectively 100,500 and Ruppert called.

Glover: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Ruppert: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

We were off to the races as the flop fell {q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Ruppert remained in the lead, but Glover had overs and the {10-Spades} on the turn gave him four more outs to a straight. Ruppert successfully went wire-to-wire when the {6-Diamonds} bricked on the river though, and he doubled to 205,000 chips.

Glover dropped to 120,000.

Woody Chips Up

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Just before the end of Level 17, James Matthews opened to 8,000 under the gun. Charles "Woody" Moore popped it to 28,000 from the cutoff and when action folded back to Matthews, he called.

The flop came down {8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Matthews led out 39,000. Moore quickly announced all in and after a few moments Matthews called for the rest of his stack, about 23,000.

Matthews: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Moore: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

Matthews needed a ton of help and found none from the {5-Hearts} turn and {Q-Hearts} river.

With that pot, Moore is up to about 330,000.

The Flush Draw of Gibralter

Level 18 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Jeff Gibralter opened to 8,200 from early position before Pavan Bhatia moved all in for 30,200 from the cutoff. Brant Holloway cold-called about a quarter of his stack from the big blind and Gibralter tank-called as well.

The flop fell {4-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Holloway immediately slid out half of his stack. Gibralter moved all in and Holloway made the call.

Bhatia: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Holloway: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Gibralter: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

"My hand was just too big to fold," Gibralter commented upon tabling his cards.

There was almost 100,000 in the main pot and nearly 200,000 in the side pot up for grabs. The dealer knuckled the table and delivered the {q-Clubs} on the turn, giving Gibralter a stranglehold on the hand. Bhatia needed the {8-Clubs} and Holloway was drawing to the two tens left in the deck.

The {9-Hearts} was a blank however and both Holloway and Bhatia hit the rail. A wave of chips was pushed towards Gibralter, and he now has 360,000 in his stack.
