Scott Rockets to Chip Lead

Robert Scott
Robert Scott

We arrived at the table and found a flurry of action. Patrick Houchins opened from early position to what appeared to be 20,000. Next to act, Robert Scott called. One seat over was Mike Rocco and he three-bet to 48,000. Action folded back around to Houchins and he immediately announced all in. Scott asked for a count and upon hearing it was 170,500, he five-bet shoved with the biggest stack of the bunch. Rocco showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} as he folded.

Showdown
Scott: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}
Houchins: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

The board came down {J-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} as Scott took down the huge pot to cross the half century mark.

Acute Engel

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Ari Engel
Ari Engel

Action folded around to the blinds for this hand, and Jake Toole raised it up to 13,500. Big blind Ari Engel made the smooth call, and off they went to the flop.

It came {5-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {10-Hearts}, and Toole continued out with a bet of 15,500. Engel took pause for about a minute before flatting once again, and the {2-Hearts} landed on fourth street. Toole loaded up again and fired another 23,000 at the pot, and Engel called once again, though considerably slower this time.

The {7-Hearts} filled out the board, and Toole knocked the felt and relinquished the betting lead. Engel paused for about three or four minutes before moving all in, putting Toole to the decision for the ~155,000 chips he had left. Toole eventually passed, saving those chips for a better spot.

Engel has crested another milestone with that pot, moving up to about 315,000.

Toole Wearing Down

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Jake Toole
Jake Toole

First into the pot, Jake Toole made it 12,000 to go from middle position. He found just one caller as Josh Mishcel came along from the blinds.

Heads-up, the dealer spread out {8-Clubs} {6-Spades} {K-Hearts}, and both men checked to see the {4-Clubs} on fourth street. Mischel led out now, firing 16,500 at the pot, and Toole called.

The river came the {Q-Hearts}, and Mischel reverted back to his checking ways. Toole took his cue to bet 27,500, and Mischel let out a big sigh. He mumbled for a moment and then announced the call, tabling his {K-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}. Toole couldn't beat it (but at least he didn't have to show), and he's fallen back to 79,500 and near the danger zone.

Another One Bites Engel's Dust

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

In middle position, Ari Engel opened with his standard raise to 12,500. Rick Austin was on the button with just 28,000 lonely chips left, and he raised all in with {K-Diamonds} {J-Spades}. Engel called with {A-Hearts} {8-Clubs}, five cards from the knockout.

The {A-Diamonds} on the flop was bad news for Austin, and the {A-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {7-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {A-Spades} board is the last one he'll see today.

Roemer Run Out

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Dane Roemer shoved in for 42,000 a couple hands ago, and it got through just fine. The next time, however, it didn't go so well. Roemer had 53,000 when he made the encore shove from early position, and Ryan Waddell made the call from the big blind to put Roemer to the test.

Showdown
Roemer: {K-Diamonds} {J-Spades}
Waddell: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}

The {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {10-Clubs} flop actually wasn't the worst ever for Roemer as he picked up one more out, now drawing to the four-out gutterball. The turn {2-Spades} was no change, though, and the river {4-Diamonds} was a blank as well. Waddell's dominating hand holds up to earn him the knockout, and Roemer is off to the exit.

Rocco Bites Scott

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Under the gun, Michael Rocco opened to 10,000, and he found one call from Robert Scott in the big blind. The two men went off to a {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs} flop, and it checked through to the {7-Spades} turn. That's where the fireworks came. Scott led out for 25,000, and Rocco promptly raised to 60,000 straight. Not to be outdone, Scott shoved over the top, and Rocco snap-called all in for 175,500 total. Cards up, gents.

Showdown
Rocco: {10-Clubs} {J-Hearts}
Scott: {A-Hearts} {10-Clubs}

Well, that's why Rocco snap-called. He'd flopped the nuts, and Scott needed to find a jack just to chop it up. The river was the blank {10-Hearts}, though, and Rocco has notched a big double up. He's now challenging for the lead with 380,000 after knocking Scott down to 415,000.

Rob Perelman
Rob Perelman

In early position, Rob Perelman shoved his last 78,000 chips in with {K-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}, and Sean Knitter called from the button, turning up the dominating {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}.

The board ran out blank, coming {8-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} to seal Perelman's exit in 31st place.

Bonacci Busto

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Franco Bonacci has just been eliminated by Michael Rocco, and that's changed a few things. Firstly, Rocco is now the chip leader with 475,000 chips. And secondly, the field is now on the direct money bubble with 28 players left.

We're going round-for-round, dealing one orbit at each table. Any players who are eliminated during this round will either bubble or chop the bottom payouts.

Knitter Stitches Up Another Pot

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

From the button, Ari Engel opened to 12,500, and Sean Knitter defended his big blind.

The dealer spread out a {4-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {5-Clubs} flop, and Engel checked behind Knitter's dark-check. The turn came the {7-Hearts}, and Knitter led out now with 20,000 of his own chips. Engel flatted, and he called another 52,000 following the {4-Diamonds} river.

Knitter had it; he tabled {3-Diamonds} {3-Spades} for the full house, and Engel mucked down to 190,000. That pot pushes Knitter up to 285,000 as he's on a bit of a heater right now.
