"You'll Get a Penalty if You Check"
The floor was just called to Table 22 where the dealer informed him of the situation. What happened was a player in early position checked a board reading 
and his opponent in the hijack asked the dealer, "Did he check?"
The dealer responded in the affirmative but apparently the early position player only heard the "check" part and flipped up his 
as the player in the hijack bet 2,000. The floor determined that the bet was valid and the early position player had the chance to act. He reluctantly made the call and was could only shake his head as the hijack turned up 
for a straight flush. The table erupted in disbelief and one player commented, "You had to bet. You'll get a penalty if you check."
While the players involved weren't among our notables, the hand was certainly out of the ordinary.
