Ilich Loses One

Drazen Ilich called a bet of 650 from an opponent on the board of {Q-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{J-Hearts} before the {4-Spades} fell on the river. Both players checked the final card and Ilich mucked after he saw his opponent's {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. He's now down to about 16,000.

Ilich is from Lincoln, Nebraska and has two World Series of Poker Circuit gold rings to his name. He won an event in 2009 at the Council Bluffs stop and followed that up in 2010 with another win at the same stop. Ilich has over $82,000 in career tournament winnings, having never cashed in an event with a buy-in larger than $1,100. Could this be the one?

Bet and Take for Novena

With about 800 in the pot and a flop reading {8-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, the big blind checked over to Brandon Novena who bet 400. The big blind made the call and the two watched the {Q-Spades} appear on the turn. The big blind checked to Novena who once again bet, this time to the tune of 775. The big blind gave it some thought before tossing his cards into the muck. Novena is sitting with around 22,000.

Dudani with Ten High

Shiva Dudani raised from early position to 350 and was called by the player on the button. The flop came down {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Dudani fired 450. His opponent made the call and the turn brought the {K-Diamonds}.

On the turn, Dudani didn't slow down. He fired again for 850. His opponent called once more.

The river completed the board with the {6-Clubs} and both players checked. Dudani announced "ten high" and was shown the {A-Diamonds}[Tc} from his opponent before mucking. He's now down to 16,500.

Another for Novena

A player in the hijack position raised to 400 and only Brandon Novena, who was in the small blind, made the call. Both players checked the {5-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop and when the {7-Diamonds} hit the turn, Novena bet 800. The big blind quickly called as the {K-Hearts} appeared on the river. Novena threw out a bet of 1,600, which turned out to be enough to push the hijack off the hand. Novena is now up to around 23,500.

Ilich Check Raises

Drazen Ilich was in middle position and raised to 525. The hijack made the call and the two saw a flop of {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. Ilich checked as did the hijack. The {A-Diamonds} appeared on the turn and once again Ilich checked. The hijack bet 750 and seemed surprised to see Ilich check-raise to 1,800. The hijack gave a sigh before mucking and conceding the pot to Ilich, who is now sitting with right around 16,000.

Pilgrim Can't Call River Shove

Four players including Dwyte Pilgrim saw the flop come down {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. Two players checked and then Pilgrim fired 800. The next player folded and so did the first player who checked. The other player in the hand called.

The turn brought the {10-Diamonds} and the first player checked to Pilgrim. He bet 1,300 and got check-raised to 3,000. Pilgrim didn't hesitate and tossed in the amount to see the river card.

The final card on board was the {9-Hearts} and Pilgrim's opponent moved all in for 7,200. Pilgrim thought for a minute or two and then gave it up, losing the pot and dropping to 15,700 in chips.
