Morton Doubles Again!

Level 24 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Mike Morton
Mike Morton

In late position, Mike Morton opened to 52,000, and Frank Hernandez was the lone caller, matching the bet to see a flop from the small blind.

It came {4-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {5-Hearts}, and the action check-checked to the {2-Diamonds} turn. That cued a leading bet of 60,000 from Hernandez, and Morton was right there with the call. The {5-Spades} on the river put trips on board, and Hernandez kept the heat on with another bet -- 95,000 this time. He looked a bit surprised when Morton raised all in for 366,000 total, but Hernandez called to see what was what.

It was aces. Morton tabled {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} for the nut full house, and that gets him a big double up to 990,000. It's a big blow to Hernandez's stack, and "gator93" is left with about 340,000 chips now.
