Brody and Aprea Flip a Coin

Level 25 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

From middle position, Dave MacDonald opened to 65,000, opening a can of worms in the process. On the button, Jon Brody three-bet to 210,000, only to see big blind Thomas Aprea move all in for 357,000 total. That got MacDonald out of the way, but Brody tanked and called to put Aprea at risk. It was a race.

Showdown
Brody: {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}
Aprea: {A-Spades} {K-Hearts}

The {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {2-Spades} flop was right in Aprea's neighborhood, pulling him into a big lead with two cards to come. The {J-Hearts} turn opened up another four outs for Brody to make Broadway, but the river {7-Spades} was safe and sound for Aprea. He doubles up to 818,000 with that pot, and Brody is now riding the short stack with just 145,000 left in front of him.
