Cartwright Thriving; Magnus Eliminated

Level 21 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Nadya Magnus
Nadya Magnus

A short-stacked player moved all in over-the-top of Kyle Cartwright's initial raise and the two-time ring winner made the call:

Cartwright: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Opponent: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}

It was off to the races as the flop fell {Q-Hearts}{K-Spades}{10-Spades}. Cartwright took the lead and stayed there as the {6-Diamonds} hit the turn followed by the {10-Diamonds} on the river. Cartwright sent his opponent to the payout line while chipping up to over 500,000.

Meanwhile, a short-stacked Nadya Magnus, the former Loose Cannon on The Big Game, was eliminated across the room.

Out the Door They Go

Level 21 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Since the money bubble burst, the players have been dropping like flies. Already the payout line is eight deep. We'll be sure to get their names in the payouts just as soon as it become official.

Azulay is the Bubble Boy

Level 20 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Yossi Azulay was all in preflop with {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and in bad shape against the {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts} of Steve Galey. Azulay was in danger of becoming the bubble boy if he didn't improve. His best shot was a nine, but the {Q-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop was no help. The {4-Spades} turn left him wanting, and the {5-Diamonds} river put an end to his tournament run just one spot shy of the money.

While that is unfortunate, the remaining 45 players will be paid.

Hamm Moves All In

Level 20 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Clayton Hamm moved all in on the button for around 85,000 with the {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and received a call from Mark Koeln on the big blind, who just happened to hold {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}. It was a coinflip as the board ran out {6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Hamm's small pocket pair held and he doubled to 175,000, narrowly escaping the title of bubble boy in the process. Koeln dropped to 230,000 after the hand.

Bubble Break

Level 20 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Notice we didn't say "bubble burst", because it hasn't yet. Instead, round-by-round play has just reached the next scheduled break; as such, players have been instructed to take their break once play has ceased on their respective tables.

Grueling

Level 20 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

As we all know, these money bubbles can be long and grueling. This one seems to be no different as the big stacks aren't mixing it up much; in fact, some have left the tournament area completely and are fine being blinded off for a bit.

This one could take awhile.
