Argano Flops the Nuts, Busts Opponent

Level 14 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Frank Argano moved all in over a bet with the board reading {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. His opponent called and Argano turned over {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for the nuts.

"Yup," Argano said proudly. "Knew you'd call."

His opponent was drawing dead with {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and after the river completed the board, Argano was pushed the pot. He now sits with an impressive 280,000 chips.

Chaplin Chips Up

Level 15 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Action folded to a player in the small blind who raised to 6,000. Joe Chaplin defended his big blind and the flop fell {3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Chaplin's opponent led for 5,500 and Chaplin called.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and Chaplin's opponent slowed down, checking to Chaplin who fired 6,000. That bet was good enough to win the pot and send Chaplin's stack to 120,000 chips.

Houchins Having His Way

Level 15 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

A player under the gun opened with a 3x raise to 6,000 and the table folded around to Patrick Houchins, sitting comfortably behind a mountain of orange and gray chips.

Houchins called, as did the big blind, and the three players saw the flop come {5-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}. It checked to Houchins who nonchalantly plucked 11,000 from his stacks to place in the middle. The big blind quickly folded, and the original raiser paused only for a moment before folding his {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} face up.

Houchins has about 255,000 at present.

Albilia Takes from Argano

Level 15 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

There was about 30,000 in the middle and the board read {5-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} when Frank Argano bet 25,000 into Ari Albilia. Albilia didn't look pleased, but made the call. Argano opened {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for eights and sevens, but Albilia tabled {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for tens and sevens and raked in the 80,000-chip pot.

Apostolico Ousted

Level 15 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

David Apostolico had been nurturing a short stack for the last several levels before he pushed all in from middle position for his last 18,000 with {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}. Alas for the poker author, an opponent in the big blind woke up with {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}.

The board ran out {7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, and Apostolico hits the rail with just over 100 players remaining.

Shak Out

Level 15 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Beth Shak has been eliminated from the tournament. We don't know how, but we know who the culprit is; Dylan Drazen.

With the KO Drazen is now the chip leader with 260,000 in his stack.

Pham-tastic

Level 15 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We're cruising toward the end of Level 15. And Edward Pham continues to cruise as well, having just eliminated another opponent.

This time Pham used {A-Hearts}{9-Spades} to conquer his short-stacked foe who was all in before the flop with {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The board came {2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, and Pham added the short stack to his.

Pham is now sitting with about 190,000.
