Enter Hellmuth

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

Fashionably late as always, Phil Hellmuth has just taken his seat in the tournament. It's not often players in these Circuit events get to play with someone as decorated as Hellmuth, but today is their lucky day.

From under the gun, Matthew Chang limped in. Phil Hellmuth limped from the next seat and then Matthew Davidson limped from middle position. Derwin Ward raised to 1,650 from the hijack and everyone folded back around to Hellmuth. He called and Davidson called.

The flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Hellmuth led for 1,400. Davidson folded and Ward made the call.

The turn card was the {7-Diamonds} and both players checked to see the {5-Diamonds} fall on the river. Hellmuth bet 700 and Ward raised to 2,700. Hellmuth quickly called.

"I got nothing," said Ward before Hellmuth tabled the {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Ward then mucked and Hellmuth won the pot to move to 25,000 in chips.

"Now we're playing the game, baby!" said an excited Hellmuth after the hand.

The flop was {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and both players checked to see the {2-Spades} fall on the turn. They both checked again and the {6-Hearts} came out on the river. Both checked once more.

The big blind showed the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, but lost to Griffin's {A-Hearts}{10-Spades} as he flopped a pair of tens. Griffin won the pot and improved to 49,000 in chips.

Three players checked the flop of {A-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} to Steve McQueen. He bet 900 and the first player who had checked, Dwyte Pilgrim, raised to 3,000. The next player folded and then Robert Zafiratos called before McQueen folded.

The turn brought the {9-Hearts} and Pilgrim pushed out 5,000. Zafiratos raised all in and Pilgrim called off his last 16,500 or so with the {5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Zafiratos tabled the {4-Spades}{3-Spades}.

The river completed the board with the {4-Diamonds} and Zafiratos' straight was the winner and he won the pot, sending Pilgrim to the rail.
