Hugginator Gets Agressive

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante
Michael Hug
Michael Hug

Rex Clinkscales opened to 200 from middle position, and Michael "The Hugginator" Hug three-bet to 600 near the button. The action folded back to Clinkscales, who called, and the flop came down {2-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. Clinkscales checked, Hug tossed out 800, and Clinkscales check-raised to 2,250. Hug called.

The turn was the {4-Spades}, and Clinkscales led for 3,525. Hug quickly moved all in for over 15,000. Clinkscales went into the tank for a bit, then asked Hug if he remembered a hand that the two had previously played together. Hug sat stone-faced.

Clinkscales eventually mucked his hand, and The Hugginator pulled in the pot.

First and Second Bullets

After a quick stroll through the field we've spotted some familiar faces in the field. Most are on their second buy in but others skipped the morning affair.

Slight Delay

There is a very long line of players registering for Day 1b, so the tournament staff has decided to delay the start. We'll let you know when the cards are in the air here in Atlantic City.

Day 1b About to Begin

The second Day 1 flight of the WSOPC Harrah's Atlantic City Main Event is about to begin. The early flight saw 339 players pony up the $1,600 entrance fee and tournament officials hope to see the total number climb above 500 total entrants.

We've been told that there are 135 players registered as of now and that number is sure to climb.

Hung Truong ended Day 1a with a stack over 200,000 and was far and away the chipleader. It's safe to say no one will come close to that tonight but anything can happen in No Limit tournament action.

We'll get you a list of the notables and re-entries from players that busted earlier as soon as possible. Follow all the action live on Pokernews.com
