Catching Flack

The infamous Layne Flack, nicknamed ``Back to Back`` after a pair of 2003 WSOP Bracelet wins, had a little trouble finding his seat at the start of Level 4, but the trouble didn`t end there.

We caught Flack folding to a 3k bet on a {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Clubs} board with 6k sitting in the middle and he`s headed in the wrong direction again, now down to 17,000.

Mastery

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

With more than $10 million in career live tournament earnings and no less than seven WSOP bracelets, Men ``The Master`` Nguyen is one of the greatest players in WSOP history. However, his reputation has been tarnished over the years by a number of cheating accusations.

The one thing he`s not known for is wasting much time at tournaments and after showing up for the start of Level 4 in Choctaw he`s not doing so here.

We caught Nguyen in a flurry of action just moments ago and he`s chipped up already. First, The Master called a 2,325 chip bet on a {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop with 4k in the middle. Nguyen and his sole opponent checked both the {4-Diamonds} and {5-Diamonds} turn and river with Nguyen`s {a-Spades}{4-Clubs} somehow holding against big slick.

The very next hand he raised it up to 450 pre flop and after getting the call from the Big Blind, another 450 chip C-bet on the 8-high flop was enough to pick up a second pot.

He was at it again right away making it 500 to see the next flop, but a 1k C-bet couldn`t shake the single pre-flop caller off a {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop. It went check-check on the {Q-Spades} turn, but Men folded when his opponent fired 2,200 at the {6-Clubs} river.

Regardless, The Master has it up close to 30k and appears ready to mix it up a little.

Israel Doubles with Big Slick

Roland Israel back above the starting stack.
Roland Israel back above the starting stack.

We found Roland Israel going to a flop with one other opponent. The board came out {A-Spades} {4-Spades} {2-Diamonds} and Israel bet 800 from the small blind. His opponent moved all in and Israel quickly called.

Israel: {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}
Opponent: {10-Spades} {7-Spades}

With all the money in the middle the dealer peeled off {2-Hearts} {K-Hearts} to complete the board. With Israel's opponent missing his flush he is up to 25,000.

Raja Kattamuri on the sickest heater of his life.
Raja Kattamuri on the sickest heater of his life.

Raja Kattamuri has been on the sickest heater of his life. In nine events at Choctaw he has claimed two WSOPC gold rings in addition to two other final tables - a 2nd and 6th place finish. He's in the field today and is sitting just above the starting stack.

We asked him about playing the Heads Up event and the PLO event simultaneously last night. "It was definitely a challenge for me, but also really fun. I wanted to win one, but I definitely exceeded my goals."

"In the PLO event I would just play on the breaks of the Heads Up event and when I finished my match. I really just wanted to keep an above average stack. I was willing to gamble a bit more and got a bit fortunate in some spots," Kattumuri said.

We asked what would make him satisfied with this event. "Of course you know the answer to that one. I'll be happy with a Final Table appearance."

Oklahoma Bound

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Chad Brown: Soon to be the name on the marquee.
Chad Brown: Soon to be the name on the marquee.

It seems Team PokerStars Pro Chad Brown is in Durant for the duration.

Not only is the Brown here for the WSOPC Circuit Main Event, recently picking up a good sized pot in the early going with a 1k C-bet on a {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop after a Limper and the Big Blind called his 475 chip small-blind raise, but it appears Brown will be back in April for a poker series of his own.

The Chad Brown Poker Challenge runs April 19-29 right here at the Choctaw Casino with the veteran pro hosting more than 30 events ranging in buy-ins from $175+$25 all the way up to a $1900+$100 Main Event.

Thanks for Playing Mr. Smith

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

We took a stroll through the second tournament room and we found Gavin Smith's chair empty. The floorman informed us that he had already busted at some point in the second level. We hope to see him in the evening flight.
