Day 1a Closes with Tiller Comfortably in the Lead
Day 1a has wrapped of the World Series of Poker Main Event at the Choctaw Casino and Resort and 398 players remain for the 647 that started the day. Sitting comfortably in the lead is Chris Tiller with 167,500 - which is near 100,000 more than the next closest stack we've tracked.
Notables surviving the day are Scotty Nguyen, Men "The Master" Nguyen, T.J. Cloutier, Traci Brown, Raja Kattamuri, and Drazen Ilich.
It was pretty hard on other notables though - Todd Brunson, Gavin Smith, Chad Brown, Layne Flack, Dennis Phillips and James Van Alstyne did not survive the day.
The evening flight is scheduled to kickoff promptly at 7 p.m. CST. Tournament officials are expecting another large turnout and are hoping to hit 1,000 players. Follow all the WSOPC action live on Pokernews.com. We'll see you then!
