Buckholtz Looks Up Dandrea

From middle position, Raymond Dandrea raised to 25,000 before being three-bet by Ryan Buckholtz to 66,000. Dandrea made the call and the two saw the flop come down {q-Diamonds} {q-Clubs} {7-Clubs} . Both players opted to check.

The turn was the {6-Clubs} and Dandrea checked again. This time Buckholtz reached for chips and placed 66,000 in the middle. But Dandrea wasn't backing down as he moved 160,000 in front of the betting line. Buckholtz thought for awhile and made the call.

The river was the {5-Hearts} and without much hesitation Dandrea bet 100,000. Buckholtz went back into the tank and eventually made the call.

With a sigh, Dandrea tabled {7-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} clearly not expecting that to be the best hand. But as Buckholtz sat there longer and longer staring at the board and his opponents hand, it became clear that Dandrea was going to win the pot and he got more and more excited with every passing second. Sure enough Buckholtz eventually mucked his cards and the pot was shipped to Dandrea.

Shortly after the hand, Dandrea told us that he played the five-seven because that's his son's birthday. Good thing for Dandrea he wasn't born a day earlier or a day later because this hand could turn out to be a huge turning point for him in this tournament.
