It's moving day here at Day 2 of the WSOPC Harrah's St. Louis Main Event. Some 303 surviving players return from the Day 1 flights and we expect to pick another 20 or so players this morning. Leading the field is Tripp Kirk who bagged up 113,900 at the end of Day 1b.
Chasing Kirk are Thomas Conway and Bill Byrnes, each with 111,000. The field is stacked with notable pros and WSOPC regulars looking to add a gold ring to their trophy case. Kurt Jewell (65,000), Joe Hebda (57,600), Dennis Phillips (45,700), Charles "Woody" Moore (45,000), Mark "Pegasus" Smith (44,200), Jeff Fielder (42,300), La Sengphet (41,000), Scott Clements (38,000), Huy Nguyen (32,500) and Alexandru Masek (30,000) are all looking to advance through the day.
A few players have some chipping up to do in order to make a run, including; David Clark (26,300), Aaron Massey (24,300), Sam Barnhart (21,600), Amanda Musumeci (20,600), Seneca Easley (19,300), "The Captain" Tom Franklin (17,000) and Matt Chang (10,200).
Today's play is scheduled for 14 levels or a final table of nine - whichever should come first. Judging by the field size and past events, the smart bet is for us to finish in the neighborhood of 25 players after the 14 levels. Cards will be in the air promptly at noon local time.
