Logan Makes an Early Exit

Travis Heryla was under the gun and opened for 3,200. When action reached the 6'10" Ben Logan in middle position, he promptly moved all in for 10,400 more. Action folded back to Heryla, and after a few moment's thought, he made the call.

Showdown

Heryla{J-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Logan{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Logan seemed shocked it took Heryla so long to call, and he began to collect his things in preparation of his exit. The {3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop was fairly uneventful, while the {8-Clubs} turn left Logan looking for a seven. Unfortunately for him, the {Q-Hearts} appeared on river and his Main Event came to an end.

One Last Shuffle Up and Deal!

Bill Bruce and company just held a nice presentation ceremony in honor of Jimmy and Teresa Sommerfeld, who've been working at the WSOP for many years. Both are retiring and while Jimmy will be working the West Palm Beach stop, Tunica marks Teresa's last event; in fact, today is her last day.

In recognition of their hard work and dedication, their coworkers presented them with matching bracelets, akin to a poker championship bracelet. It was an emotionally charged scene as the entire poker room applauded and rose from their chairs before Teresa gave the traditional "Shuffle up and deal" one last time.

With that, the cards are in the air here on Day 2 of the WSOP Circuit Harrah's Tunica.

The World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah's Tunica Main Event kicked off yesterday with two starting flights attracting 625 players, though players still have about 40 minutes to register. The turnout has already exceeded last year’s total of 480 by a large margin, though re-entry was not an option in 2010/2011. Headed into Day 2, approximately 316 players remain with Dantonio Brown starting the day as the overwhelming chip leader with an astounding 277,100 in chips, which is more than double his next closest opponent.

Some other players who will be in action were actually eliminated in the first flight and re-entered in the second included John Dolan, Aaron Massey, Earl Barron, Sam Barnhart and Traci Brown, just to name a few. The decision proved fruitful for all of the abovementioned players as they will be in action on Day 2, which means there’s a possibility of a title defense by Barnhart.

All of the aforementioned players joined a laundry-list of notables who needed only one bullet to advance including Roland Israel (85,000), Houston White (79,800), Beverly Cheney (46,800), Kurt Jewell (39,500), “Captain” Tom Franklin (37,000), Doug “Rico” Carli (35,500), Al Theriac (31,300), and Huy Nguyen (30,900).

Brown may be the overwhelming chip leader, but there are plenty of others sitting on decent stacks including Ray Weaver (138,500), Bo Chevallier (96,500), and David Walker (95,600).

Day 2 will kick off in less than an hour, so be sure to stay tuned to PokerNews!
