Big Pots Grab our Attention

We came upon this hand that had about 15,000 with the board reading {2-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {10-Spades}. The player in the big blind check-called 3,800 from Tom Servis. The river came {K-Spades} and both players checked.

The big blind tabled {A-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} for a busted flush draw and Servis showed {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds} for two pair.

Pilgrim Doubles

With the board reading {8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} Dwyte Pilgrim bet out and was raised by his opponent. Pilgrim made the call and with about 12,000 in the pot, the two saw the {8-Spades} hit the river.

Action hit a standstill for a few moments on the river. Eventually, Pilgrim exclaimed "This is a re-entry, right?", before finally moving his entire stack in the middle. His opponent pushed his chips out at the same time and tabled {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Pilgrim flipped up {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for a straight and was able to double up to about 32,000.

Pilgrim Loses Some

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

We caught up to see Dwyte Pilgrim and two other players see a flop of {6-Spades}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades}. The first two players checked to Pilgrim who pondered for a bit before eventually checking as well.

The turn brought a third eight, the {8-Diamonds} to be exact. The player that was first to act led out for 2,000 and the other player got out of the way. Pilgrim called and the river came {4-Spades}. Pilgrim's opponent quickly shot out another bet of 2,000 and Pilgrim called once again. His opponent tabled {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Pilgrim sent his cards sailing into the muck. Pilgrim is not sitting around 16,000.

Waxman Sliding Downward

Chris Tryba, Matthew Waxman (small blind) and Ted Garner (big blind) all went to a limped flop. The board fell {9-Spades} {10-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} and Waxman led out for 1,300. Garner and Tryba called to see the {K-Diamonds} turn. All three players checked and the river came {9-Hearts}. Waxman slid out 3,600, Garner called and Tryba took a few moments to call.

"Kings," Waxman said as he turned over {K-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}. Garner showed him bad news when he tabled {9-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} for rivered trips. Tryba mucked and Waxman got up and left the table in frustration.

Big Slick Does It For Kessler

Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

After one player limped in late position, Allen Kessler pushed out a raise to 1,300. The blinds released their hands and the limper made the call.

The flop fell {5-Spades}{K-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Kessler's opponent checked. Kessler continued out for 1,750 and was called. The turn brought the {4-Spades} and both players checked. The {2-Clubs} came on the river and Kessler's opponent checked for a third time. Kessler tossed out 2,500 and was quickly called.

Kessler flipped over {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} for top pair, top kicker and his opponent rapped the table and threw his hand toward the muck. Kessler is now sitting on about 27,000.

We spent an orbit with Dwyte Pilgrim. With one of the most recognizable laughs on the circuit, he's easy to find in a crowded room.

Hand 1 - Pilgrim was in the big blind and action folded to around to the small blind, who limped. Pilgrim raised an additional 400 and took the pot.

Hand 2 - Pilgrim was in the small blind and folded after a middle position player raised to 750.

Hand 3 - A middle position player opened with a raise and Pilgrim smiled while folding. "I'm glad you raised so I can fold and protect my image," he said.

Hand 4 - He folded preflop and was scrolling the updates on the Pokernews app.

Hand 5 - A player limped in front of him and Pilgrim raised to 1,100 and put his sunglasses on. The small blind called and the limper called. The flop came {9-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {3-Clubs} and all three players checked. The turn brought the {5-Diamonds}, the small blind bet 1,500, the limper folded and Pilgrim called. The river was the {7-Spades}, the small blind checked and Pilgrim bet 500. The small blind tanked and Pilgrim smacked the table and said, "Don't try to figure this out. It doesn't mean anything."
The player folded.

Hand 6 - Pilgrim folded preflop and was scrolling through his messages on his phone.

Hand 7 - Pilgrim folded following an open-raise to 600.

Hand 8 - Pilgrim folds preflop and untangles his Bose earbuds. He started texting somebody.

Hand 9 - He folded under the gun and has a stack near 33,000.
