Nguyen Flops Straight

On a flop of {8-Clubs}{9-Spades}{j-Hearts}, Huy Nguyen and two other players checked. The final player to act in the hand bet out an unknown amount and Nguyen was the only caller.

The two were heads up to the {3-Diamonds} on the turn and Nguyen took the lead with a bet of 4,225. The {Q-Hearts} hit the river and Nguyen dropped in 10,600. His opponent shook his head before finally folding {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} face up for a flopped set of eights. Nguyen showed the {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for a flopped straight and lamented about how he wished they'd have gotten it all in on the flop.

With this win Nguyen is now sitting at about 75,000.

Mueller Has Higher Pair

The hijack raised to 1,500 only to have Greg Mueller three-bet from the cutoff to 3,500. It folded back around to the player in the hijack and he flat called.

The flop brought {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{Q-Spades} and both players checked. The {9-Diamonds} prompted a 4,000 bet from Mueller's opponent and Mueller decided to stick around. The board completed with the {8-Clubs} and the hijack now fired 8,000. Mueller quickly called to see his opponent show {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}. Mueller, however, tabled {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for a higher pocket pair and he was able to take down the pot. He's currently sitting on roughly 65,000.

Rowsome Loses Battle of the Blinds

Adrienne Rowsome completed from the small blind after the rest of the table folded, only to have the big blind raise it to 2,300. Rowsome called and the flop brought {3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Both players tapped the table and the turn was the {7-Diamonds}.

Rowsome check-called a bet of 3,500 and the river was the {8-Diamonds}. The two players checked and Rowsome showed a {7-Spades}. Her opponent, however, tabled {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the best seven, and Rowsome mucked her hand. She's currently sitting around 31,000.
