Waaland Waylays Foulkes with the Old Jack-Deuce

Level 31 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Well, things have certainly livened up around here at the final table at the first ever WSOP Circuit Main Event at Foxwoods. After more than two hours without an elimination, we've now seen a couple of huge double-ups and two eliminations in the space of just an orbit or so.

Just now came the latest eyebrow-raising hand, this one starting quietly with the table folding around to Ethan Foulkes in the small blind. As Foulkes was slow to recognize the action was on him, the big blind Cory Waaland took the opportunity to interject a question.

"Do I get a walk?" he asked hopefully, and Foulkes finally took a peek at his cards. No, Waaland was not getting a walk, as Foulkes decided to raise to 175,000.

The action on Waaland, he said he was reraising all in for his entire stack of nearly 1.1 million, and Foulkes snap-called, turning over {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}.

Foulkes grinned sheepishly, uttering variations of "uh oh" as he tabled his hand — {J-Hearts}{2-Hearts}! A true hand-in-the-cookie-jar moment for Waaland, and he stood alongside Foulkes to see the dealer deliver the flop.

Out came the first three community cards... {2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}!

The crowd watching on immediately reacted, and Waaland was beside himself. Then the turn brought the {10-Clubs}, leading to Foulkes asking the dealer to provide one more club and a winning flush for him.

The dealer indeed produced a club on fifth street... the {J-Clubs}! Waaland had somehow drawn a full house with his jack-deuce to win a pot of about 2.2 million.

"This game is sick," said Paul Snead with a big grin.

"This game is f---ing great!" said Waaland.
