Jerry Monroe Eliminated in 9th Place ($23,431)

Level 28 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Jerry Monroe - 9th Place
Jerry Monroe - 9th Place

The table folded around to Jerry Monroe on the button who checked his cards and then slid his remaining stack of about 350,000 forward for an all-in raise. George Zinaty tossed his cards from the small blind, then James Kinney thought for a short while in the big blind before saying "All right, I call."

Kinney: {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Monroe: {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

The flop came {4-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, pairing Kinney and leaving Monroe still in need of improvement to survive. The turn brought the {9-Hearts} and some straight outs for Monroe, causing Kinney to wipe his brow grinningly to indicate the added sweat.

The {7-Clubs} then landed on fifth street, ending Monroe's run in ninth place.

Weaver Wins an Interesting One

Level 28 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Raymond Weaver opened to 75,000 from under the gun, and four players called including Hugh Henderson (direct left), George Zinaty (hijack), James Kinney (cutoff), and Daniel Weinman (big blind).

"Five players to the flop," the dealer announced.

The flop fell {2-Clubs}{j-Spades}{5-Spades}, and Weinman checked. Quickly, Weaver tossed out four olive T25,000 chips, and both Henderson and Weinman called the 100,000-chip bet.

The turn was a repeat jack - the {j-Clubs} - and Weinman checked again. Weaver fired 150,000, Henderson raised to 350,000, and Weinman called.

"I'm all in," Weaver announcing, bumping it up to what looked like 1.4 million.

Henderson shot a look at Weaver, then turned his attention to Weinman. He finally flicked his cards into the muck, and Weinman gave a shrug before folding as well.

"I know exactly what you had," Zinaty blurted. "Pocket queens."

"That's exactly right," Weaver said in earnest.

Shocked, Henderson said that he folded jack-ten. Weinman also admitted to folding a jack.

Weaver Batting a Thousand

Level 28 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Daniel Weinman raised to 60,000 from the hijack seat, and only Raymond Weaver called from a seat over.

All three post-flop streets then saw Weinman check-calling bets from Weaver — 75,000 after the {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop, 100,000 after the {2-Spades} turn, and 150,000 after the {5-Spades} river. Weaver then tabled {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for sixes and fives, and Weinman mucked.

"Batting 1.000," said Kory Kilpatrick afterwards to Weaver, who nodded in response. He moves up over 3 million with that pot.

Zinaty Sliding

Level 28 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

George Zinaty opened to 75,000 from middle position, James Kinney snap-called on his direct left, Raymond Weaver called out of the small blind, and Hugh Henderson defended in the big blind.

The dealer fanned {8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}, and the action checked to Zinaty who continued for 130,000. Only Henderson called.

The turn was the {6-Spades}, Henderson checked again, and Zinaty fired another 250,000.

"Seven-hundred," Henderson announced, check-raising to 700,000.

Zinaty hummed and hawed for 20 seconds or so, and then mucked his hand. Zinaty now has around 1.3 million chips, while Henderson is creeping back up to four million.

Weinman at Work

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

With eight players left, Daniel Weinman's found himself in eighth position out of eight as Level 29 began. He's doing what he can, though, to change that situation.

Just now James Kinney opened with a minimum-raise to 80,000 from middle position, then Jonathan Moseley called from the cutoff. Next to act on the button, Weinman pushed all in, and Kinney quickly folded. Moseley took more time to decide what to do, but eventually he folded as well.

Bobbing and Weaving

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Raymond Weaver
Raymond Weaver

Hugh Henderson, Jonathan Moseley, and Raymond Weaver were heads up on a flop of {2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Henderson checked, Moseley fired 100,000, and both Weaver and Henderson called.

The turn was the {q-Spades}, Henderson and Moseley checked, and Weaver tossed out 200,000. Only Moseley called.

The {2-Hearts} completed the board, and both players checked. Moseley showed {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for a pair of queens, but Weaver had that beat with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for a better kicker.

"I had a deuce," Henderson lamented.

This put Weaver in the chip lead with over 4.1 million.

A few hands later, Weaver raised to 80,000 in the hijack seat, and both Kory Kilpatrick (button) and James Kinney (big blind) made the call. The flop fell {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, Kinney checked, and Weaver bet 105,000. Only Kilpatrick called.

The turn was a second ace - the {a-Diamonds} - and Weaver led out for 175,000. Kilpatrick again called.

The {q-Spades} completed the board, and Weaver fired a third and final bullet worth 250,000.

"All in," Kilpatrick announced, making it 860,000 total.

Weaver tanked for the better part of a minute, then threw his cards into the muck.

"That was a good bet," Weaver told Kilpatrick. "Good bet."

Everybody Loves Raymond

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

We've heard players say "everybody loves Raymond" more than once over the last couple of days, alluding to the popular TV show while referring to 69-year-old Raymond Weaver, usually after he's won another pot. We just watched Weaver pick up a couple more decent-sized pots to add further to his stack.

In the first, Weaver raised to 80,000 from early position and Jonathan Moseley called from the big blind. Both checked the {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{A-Spades} flop. Then after Moseley checked the {A-Diamonds} turn, Weaver bet 100,000 and Moseley called.

The river was the {Q-Hearts} and this time Moseley fired 225,000. Weaver took his time, then raised to 500,000, and after a long think Moseley folded. Weaver showed his hand — {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} — and scooped the chips.

On the next hand Weaver was raising again to 100,000 from UTG and Hugh Henderson called. The flop came {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, Weaver bet 150,000, and once more Henderson called. The turn then brought the {3-Clubs} and a bet of 200,000 from Weaver. Henderson raised to 550,000, and Weaver quickly said he was all in.

"You got it man," Henderson exhaled. "I can't call you." As he pitched his cards to the dealer, Weaver showed his hand again — {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}.

After that sequence, Weaver has moved into first position, and while the others keep saying "everybody loves Raymond," we're not sure they really mean it just now.

Weaver Crosses Five Million

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Dan Weinman raised to 80,000 in the cutoff, Raymond Weaver called on the button, and Hugh Henderson called out of the small blind. The dealer fanned {3-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{q-Spades}, Henderson and Weinman checked, and Weaver bet 100,000. Henderson quickly check-raised to 225,000, Weinman folded, and Weaver called.

The turn was the {5-Spades}, and Henderson led out for 275,000.

"All in," Weaver announced, making it 2.675 million total.

Henderson sighed, cracked a feeble smile, then folded {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} face up. Weaver wrapped the table, then showed {6-Spades}{4-Spades} for a turned flush.

Weinman Finds a Double

Daniel Weinman doubles
Daniel Weinman doubles

George Zinaty, Daniel Weinman, Raymond Weaver, and Hugh Henderson saw a flop of {9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. The action checked to Weinman, who fired 135,000, and only Henderson called.

The turn was the {10-Clubs}, Weinman tossed out another 225,000, and Henderson again called.

The {j-Hearts} completed the board, and after tanked for 20 seconds or so, Weinman announced that he was all in.

"I guess I have to call," Henderson said, pushing chips forward to call the bet of 495,000.

Weinman ripped over {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for two pair, and Henderson was forced to show {a-Spades}{6-Spades} for just a pair of aces. Weinman more than doubled to 2.1 million chips, while Henderson dropped to 1.85 million.

"I blame Raymond [Weaver] for that one," Henderson said with a smile, alluding to a previous hand where he was forced to fold top two.
