Registration is open until the start of Day 2 here in the Southern Comfort 100 Proof National Championship, and tournament director Jack Effel has suggested that a few players may be flying in to do just that.
Now, thanks to Twitter, we know one of those players is Jason Mercier, who just busted a tournament in Las Vegas and has opted to hop a flight to come compete for his third bracelet.

A preflop raising war resulted in Eric Froehlich being all in for roughly 22,000 and up against Bossier City Main Event Champion Jeff Gibralter.
Gibralter:
Froehlich:
Froehlich was way behind and in need of some help, but he'd find none as the board ran out . Gibralter, who hails from Rockwall, Texas, was pushed the pot while Froehlich made a hasty exit from the tournament floor.
Nevermind, ran tens into the stainers jacks in an incredibly easy fold spot for him. Now to see if I can change my flight! #wsopchampsMay 22 2013Follow

We saw Kyle Julius sitting with a mountain of chips and the seat formerly occupied by Aaron Massey was empty. A quick check with Julius and he confirmed that he'd done the deed.
According to him it happened after Massey opened for 625, Josh Reichard three-bet to 1,500 and Julius four-bet to 2,600. Massey then five-bet to 5,100, Reichard folded and Julius called, bringing about a flop. Long story short, Julius held the and Massey had . The money actually got in on the turn, and after the river was run out, a dejected Massey took his leave from the 2013 Southern Comfort 100 Proof National Championship.
