Mamouni Checks Behind

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

After the river of a {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {6-Spades} board in the far right corner of the tournament area, Mohamed Mamouni checked behind and his opponent tapped the table in a disappointed manner before flipping over his pocket kings. Mamouni couldn't beat that and mucked his cards, showing a quite surprised expression.

The very same table also features former WPT Marrakech champion Houssam Mohamed Ali as well as Surinder Sunar.

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

Joining the action on a flop of {A-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {7-Spades}, Patrick Schaal Semet had a T-5,000 chip in front and behind him Touhani Zekhnini moved all in. Said El Yousfi as third player in the hand quickly folded and Schaal Semet called with {A-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}. Zekhnini needed help with {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} and couldn't get there anymore on the {J-Spades} turn and {4-Hearts} river.

Omar Lakhdari
Omar Lakhdari

After a raise to 700 and three callers, Omar Lakhdari three-bet to 2,700 and received two callers to see a flop of {9-} {7-} {4-} with one heart. Lakhdari made a continuation bet of 4,700 and was called by one opponent before the {2-Hearts} fell on the turn.

The opponent of the Frenchman bet 20,000 with as much behind and Lakhdari called before the {3-Hearts} river completed the board. Now the action was checked to Lakhdari and his shove with {6-Hearts} {8-Hearts} was called and mucked by the opponent to see the Frenchman on five digits.

Guigon Doubles

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

After a limp, the player on the button raised to 1,200 and Bernard Guigon called, so did the player in the big blind. The limper folded and the three of them saw a flop of {8-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}. Guigon check-raised from 2,600 to 8,000 and that enforced a fold from the player in the big blind.

However, the player on the button shoved and Guigon tank-called all in for 22,775 with {10-Diamonds} {10-Spades}. His opponent held the {K-Clubs} {8-Clubs} and the board ran out safely with the {Q-Diamonds} turn and the {Q-Spades} river to leave the player on the button behind with 1,500 chips.

Bad Beat Zone for Hohn

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Helmut Hohn had already lost half the stack with {K-} {Q-} versus {A-} {4-} after spiking top pair on the flop and an opponent successfully chasing a gut shot straight draw. Then, the German was all in and at risk after a flop of {Q-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} with {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} and was called for 12,000 by an opponent with {Q-Spades} {10-Spades}.

The {10-Clubs} turn and a blank river sent Hohn out of the tournament and his opponent apologized. "Don't worry, I am already used to it," Hohn said before grabbing his belongings.
