Panek Continues to Climb

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

With around 6,000 in the pot, the dealer fanned the flop of {10-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}. Anatoliy Zyrin checked from the big blind and Tomasz Panek bet 2,200 from the cutoff. Zyrin made the call and the {3-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

Zyrin checked again and Panek fired again for 7,200. Zyrin wasn't ready to give up yet as he made the call. The river brought the {3-Spades}, pairing the board and putting a fourth spade out there. Both players checked and Zyrin showed {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Panek tabled {j-Spades}{8-Spades}, flopping a flush and taking down the pot.

Ruzicka Takes from Schulz; Sekularac Arrives

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Ognjen Sekularac
Ognjen Sekularac

After an open-raise by Vojtech Ruzicka on the button, Robert Schulz three-bet to 6,500 in the small blind. Ruzicka four-bet to 13,800 and Schulz called to see a flop of {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Ruzicka checked back, and both players provided no further fireworks on the {A-Diamonds} turn and {A-Hearts} river either.

Schulz flashed {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Ruzicka won the pot with {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for trips aces. While the hand played out, Ognjen Sekularac was patiently waiting to be dealt in and received a fresh stack once all was done and dusted.

Neuville Shoves Into Halleux

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Pierre Neuville
Pierre Neuville

Pierre Neuville raised to 1,900 from under the gun and was called by Fabrice Halleux on the button and Aleksandar Tomovic in the big blind. On the three-way flop of {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}, it was Halleux that bet 3,100 after the action checked to him. Tomovic quickly folded while Neuville called.

After the {9-Diamonds} turn, Neuville bet 8,000 and Halleux called before Neuville waved with his hands after the {9-Clubs} river to see the stack of his fellow Belgian. Halleux obliged, revealing a remaining stack of 43,500, and Neuville moved all in for more than that. Having spent two minutes in the think tank and checking his cards three times, Halleux elected to fold and was shown the {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a full house by Neuville.

Ozimek Wins a Staring Contest

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Michal Ozimek
Michal Ozimek

Tomasz Panek raised to 2,200 on the button and Michal Ozimek in the small blind three-bet to 8,000. "How should I play this hand?" Panek jokingly asked the dealer and then announced a call shortly after. The next minutes were mostly spent in silence, though. Both checked the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop and the {4-Diamonds} turn by tapping the table.

On the {7-Clubs} river, Ozimek checked and Panek bet 5,500. Soon after he followed that up with a "jacks you call" while Ozimek, his eyes hidden by sunglasses, stared at the board for more than two minutes. Ozimek eventually called and Panek announced a king-high, before mucking his cards with showing as soon as Ozimek had exposed {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}.

Tomovic Rivers Broadway to Double Up

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Aleksandar Tomovic
Aleksandar Tomovic

Fabrice Halleux raised to 1,800 from the cutoff and Alexsandar Tomovic pushed all-in for 12,500 on the button. The blinds folded and Halleux made the call.

Tomovic: {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Halleux: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

It was a race situation and the flop came {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. Tomovic picked up a straight draw to go with his two overcards. The turn brought the {k-Hearts}, giving Tomovic even more outs and the {q-Diamonds} on the river completed his straight. Tomovic was able to find a double up and stay alive in the high roller.

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Maxim Lykov

Maxim Lykov eventually busted with his short stack and walked over to the table of Pavel Plesuv to confirm the bad news.

There wasn't much action on the other tables as of recently, only Tomasz Panek chipped up significantly after he got paid off by Mike Brandau. Panek bet the {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} river for 11,100 and Brandau called, then mucked when he was shown the {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for the nuts by Panek.

Ozimek's Four-Bet Doesn't Get Through

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Felipe Ramos opened to 1,500 from under the gun and Gregor Greko called from the cutoff. Tomasz Panek three-bet to 4,300 from the small blind and Michal Ozimek four-bet to 10,700 out of the big blind. Both Ramos and Greko folded putting the action back on Panek. He glanced over at Ozimek's stack and then announced all-in. Ozimek instantly threw his cards away and Panek took down the pot preflop.

Meanwhile on another table, high stakes cash game pro, Pavel Binar, has taken a seat as Day 1 is in its closing stages.

Maxim Lykov was all in for just 4,400 and Vojtech Ruzicka called from the big blind.

Maxim Lykov: {A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Vojtech Ruzicka: {A-Spades}{4-Clubs}

The board came {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and they chopped it up, Lykov's profit of the hand was a mere 400 chips. "I can't win here," the Russian sighed and Sander van Wesemael chimed in with a "But you didn't lose either."
