Marder's Delayed Aggression Works Out

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Michael Marder raised to 2,500 in early position and was called by Martin Ryan in the small blind. The flop came {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {9-Diamonds} on the turn.

Ryan checked again and Marder stuck in a delayed continuation bet of 5,000. Ryan called and the {j-Diamonds} completed the board. Ryan checked again and Marder splashed in another bet of 12,000. Ryan quickly threw his cards away and Marder collected the pot.

Cada Pays One Off

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Joe Cada
Joe Cada

It was just the two blinds in the hand on a board reading {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. The small blind led out for 3,500 into a pot of 8,000 and Joe Cada called from the big blind.

The river was the {7-Spades} and the small blind fired out another bet of 5,000. Cada went into the tank for over a minute, looking like he was going to throw his cards away. However, Cada flicked in a chip to call and his opponent turned over {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for trip queens, leaving Cada disappointed in his call.

Lynskey Sends Over a Double Up

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Four players headed to the flop with around 10,000 in the middle. The dealer fanned the flop of {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{6-Spades} and the action checked to the cutoff who bet 6,000. Ian Steinman called from the small blind as did Alex Lynskey in the big blind.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and both of the blinds checked again. The cutoff fired out another 13,000 which got Steinman to fold but Lynskey still called. The river was the {2-Clubs} and Lynskey checked for the third time. His opponent shoved all in for 24,400 which sent Lynskey to the tank.

"This is a close one," he said as he played with his calling chips. After a couple of minutes, Lynskey dropped in a call. His opponent tabled {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for a set of sixes while Lynskey flashed {k-}{j-} before they hit the muck.

Perfect Runout for Conan

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Marius Conan was heads-up in an escalating pot with around 45,000 in the middle by the time all the cards were laid out. The board read {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{a-Spades} and Conan checked to his opponent who bet 27,000.

Conan check-raised all in for 44,100 and his opponent quickly called. Conan turned over {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for a set of threes while his opponent went runner-runner two pair with {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} in order to pay him off. Conan found a timely double up and is now sitting with an above-average stack.

Bazeley Calls Down from the Big Blind

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The action folded around to the small blind who bumped it up to 3,000 and Jake Bazeley defended from the big blind. The flop fell {k-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and the small blind led out with a bet of 6,000. Bazeley called and the {2-Hearts} paired the board on the turn.

The small blind fired out another 6,000 and Bazeley stuck around to see the {q-Diamonds} on the river. The small blind made it 7,000 this time which got a raise of the eyebrow from Bazeley.

"An extra thousand this time?" Bazeley questioned. "That's some good tax right there. Here ya go," as Bazeley tossed in the chips to call.

His opponent flipped over {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} but Bazeley flopped top pair with {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} to claim the pot.

Sheaves Makes a Late Appearance

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Warren Sheaves
Warren Sheaves

The defending champion from the 2018 WSOP Global Casino Championship, Warren Sheaves, has finally taken his seat among his competitors. Sheaves was seen walking around the room earlier today but instead of playing some poker, he decided to relax with a few wobbly pops instead.

"I was so drunk last night, I swapped action with seven different people. I had no idea," Sheaves told his table as he sat down with a beer in his hand.

Sheaves took down this event last year for nearly $300,000 and has earned his way back into the field to defend his title. Sheaves finished 37th on the WSOP Circuit player-of-the-year leaderboard with a total of 20 cashes netting himself over $106,000.
