Israelashvili Takes Bad Beat to Become Bubble Boy

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Roland Israelashvili from a previous event
Roland Israelashvili from a previous event

Roland Israelashvili’s tournament life was at stake in a preflop all in on the bubble. He was in good shape however as he held {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} against the {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} of Jordan Piva.

The flop gave outs to Piva as it came {4-}{6-}{7-}. The turn was the {2-}. But the {5-} on the river brought in the straight to crack both the aces and the money bubble in brutal fashion for Israelashvili

Reichard Doubles on the Bubble

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Josh Reichard
Josh Reichard

The action folded around to Stephen Song on the button who stuck in a stack of 25,000 chips to cover both of the blinds. Josh Reichard looked down at his hand in the small blind and called off his last 141,000 chips. Marius Conan had around 120,000 left in the big blind and also had a decision to make. Conan elected to fold and indicated that {a-}{k-} went into the muck.

Josh Reichard: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Stephen Song: {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

The flop came {k-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Reichard was in a great position to double up, thanks to Conan ditching his cards. The {3-Hearts} on the turn gave Song a couple of more outs but the {j-Clubs} on the river ensured Reichard of a double up on the bubble.

Salazar Eliminates Steinman With Set

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Four players went to a flop of {j-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Ian Steinman bet 25,000, Eric Salazar raised to 68,000 which cleared out the other two players. Steinman tanked for about 20 seconds before announcing all in which Salazar snap called.

Steinman had {a-Spades}{q-Spades} for top pair but was crushed by the {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} of Salazar. The turn was the {5-Hearts} and the river the {7-Clubs} to give no miracle to Steinman and he was eliminated just as the money bubble approaches.

Turner Climbs Into Seven Figures

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Joshua Turner opened to 15,000 from the hijack and Valentin Vornicu called from the small blind. The two players headed to a flop of {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} in which they both quickly checked.

Vornicu led out for 21,000 on the {8-Clubs} turn card and Turner just called. The river brought the {6-Diamonds} and Vornicu checked this time. Turner flicked in a bet of 25,000 and Vornicu quickly called. Turner tabled {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for top pair and Vornicu sent his cards to the muck.

Minghini's Flopped Set Gets Paid Off

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Picking up the action on the turn, Warren Sheaves and Jarod Minghini were heads-up in a hand with around 55,000 already in the middle. The board read {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Sheaves checked from the big blind. Minghini bet 36,000 on the button and Sheaves called.

The river was the {5-Spades} and Sheaves checked once more. Minghini slid out a bet of 57,000 and Sheaves wasted little time to make the call. Minghini turned over {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for a set of fours and Sheaves was forced to send his cards to the muck.
