Anderson Takes an Early Lead

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

The pot already contained over 2,000 and the board read {10-Hearts}{j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

"Bigsmd" had bet 1,500 from the button after both Joseph Anderson (big blind) and Jonathan Hayward (cutoff) had checked. Anderson called but then Hayward raised to 4,000. Bigsmd thought about it for a while and then decided to fold. Anderson called once more.

The {K-Clubs} on the river completed the board, Anderson checked again. Hayward continued with a bet of 11,525. Anderson looked at the board and his own stack and then opted to call. Hayward reluctantly tabled {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and was beaten by the {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds} of Anderson who had hit two pair on the river.

Shayler Loses to Roussia

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

About a month ago, Stephen Shayler finished in 14th place here in Rozvadov during the partypoker MILLIONS Germany Main Event for €35,000 and he was just involved in a hand.

Loic Roussia raised to 150 from the cutoff and was called by Ali Ayub (button) and Stephen Shayler (small blind).

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and they all checked through to the {5-Clubs} on the turn. Shayler now bet 350, Roussia called and Ayub folded.

The {7-Clubs} on the river completed the board. Shayler continued with a bet of 1,000. Roussia however raised to 3,500. Shayler sat up straight and looked at the board again. He ended up calling in the end. Roussia tabled {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for the rivered flush. Shayler disappointedly turned around his {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} to show he had flopped the nut straight and improved to a flush which couldn't beat the one of Roussia.
