Kabrhel Takes the Chip Lead into the Final Day of the WSOP International Circuit Main Event

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

It was a long day here at the King’s Casino in Rozvadov on Day 2 of the €1,650 WSOP International Circuit Main Event as the 292 players that survived the Day 1s came together to play themselves into the money. Another 47 players decided to reenter just before the start of the day, a few online qualifiers didn’t show up but were added to the prize pool bringing the total amount of entries to 796.

After 12 levels of an hour each, Martin Kabrhel takes the chip lead into the final day tomorrow with 2,235,000 in chips out of all 30 players who have bagged and tagged today. He won several big hands of the whole day but in one of the last hands of the day, he took the chip lead by rivering a straight against Konstantinon Misailidis who also made it through to Day with 736,000 in total.

Second in the chip counts is Timur Margolin who bagged 1,981,000. He burst the bubble when Aleksandr Konovalov ran his ace-king into the tens of Margolin in the fourth round of hand-for-hand play. Konovalov hit a king on the flop but the ten on the turn meant the end of his tournament life. The bubble bursting also meant the end of the nicknames in this tournament.

Closing the podium for today is Amar Begovic who has steadily been chipping up throughout the day. Other stacks to take note of are Stanislav Koleno (1,348,000), Paris Stavridis (1,344,000), Ben Zech (1,276,000), Jose Acebes Lopez, and Grzegorz Wyraz (977,000).

There were many well-known players that unfortunately busted before making the money stages of the tournament. These include players like Jeremy Williams, Andreas Hildebrand, Milad Oghabian, Sebastian Langrock, Micky Blasi, Robert Auer, Harald Sammer, Makarios Avramidis, Jaroslaw Sikora, and Robin Hegele.

Players that made the money but not the final day include Eyal Bensimhon who managed to cash 5 out of the 6 tournaments he entered here during this festival. He couldn’t win with king-jack against the ace-jack of Misailidis. Andrei Demidov ran his ace-ten into the queens of Igor Pihela, Pierre Neuville ran king-queen into Omer Yoruk’s ace-queen. Cameron Hunt lost with ace-king against the tens of Jamie Nixon and so on.

The final day will restart tomorrow at 2 pm local time here in the Czech Republic so stay tuned to PokerNews to see who will be crowned as the Main Event Champion tomorrow!

Kabrhel Moves Closer to Two Million

Level 23 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

Martin Kabrhel opened to 32,000 and Johannes Kissel three-bet all in for 113,000. Konstantinon Misailidis re-raised to 200,000. Kabrhel started his usual theatrics before calling. "I need help please dealer!" said Kissel.

The flop came {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and Misailidis check-called a bet of 69,000. The turn {9-Clubs} was checked by both players. The river was the {j-Spades}.

Misailidis checked and Kabrhel took three stacks of 100,000 down from the top tier of his stack. He counted them out and then returned them to his stack. He then counted out a bet and slid forward 161,000. Misailidis folded.

Kabrhel turned over {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Kissel showed {a-Spades}{4-Spades} and the pair chopped the main pot, with Kabrhel winning the substantial side pot.

"I was bluffing!" said Kabrhel, "You had Ace-King?" and Misailidis nodded. "You see this honey?" Kabrhel said almost Helmuth-esque to his wife who had appeared on the rail, "I was bluffing!"

Gavrilovich Gives in to Kabrhel

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Jenya Gavrilovich
Jenya Gavrilovich

The flop read {j-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and there was about 194,000 in the middle already. Jenya Gavrilovich had checked in the cutoff and Martin Kabrhel bet 84,000 on the button. Gavrilovich called after about a minute.

The turn brought them the {J-Spades} on which they both checked.

The river completed the board with the {8-Spades}, Gavrilovich bet 85,000 and Kabrhel shoved all in with the bigger stack. Gavrilovich tanked but after while he decided to call.

Gavrilovich had {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for two pair, aces and jacks. But Kabrhel had {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for the full house, aces over jacks. Gavrilovich quickly left the table and Kabrhel happily stacked up all the new chips he had won.

Two players limped and Serif Gozegir moved all in for 34,000. The big blind re-raised and the limpers folded. Gozegir showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and was up against his opponent's {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. The board came {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{j-Spades} and Gozegir doubled.

Timur Margolin: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The flop came {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} to give Konovalov a pair of kings. The turn changed everything around though as it was the {10-Hearts} to give Margolin a set of tens. Kabrhel Wins Biggest Pot of the Tournament

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

Martin Kabrhel raised in early position and got two callers, including Petr Svoboda on the button and Josef Vogel in the big blind. Vogel bet 10,000 on the {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop. Kabrhel raised to 35,000 and Svoboda re-raised to 105,000. Vogel folded and Kabrhel went into the tank.

The clock was called, with Kabrhel called before the tournament official began their countdown. The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and Kabrhel checked to Svoboda who bet 160,000. Again, Kabrhel went into the clock and tablemate Jenya Gavrilovich called the clock.

"It's the biggest pot of the tournament so far; this is impossible," said Kabrhel to the floor as they appeared at the table. Kabrhel called again.

The river was the {5-Hearts} and both players checked. Kabrhel showed {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and took down the pot.

Kandola Parminder Singh raised pre-flop and called a small three-bet from Viliyan Petleshkov. The flop {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} was checked by both players. The turn was the {7-} and both stacks got in the middle. Parminder held {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a pair as well as straight and flush draws, but he would have to come from behind against the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} of Petleshkov.

The river was the {8-Diamonds} giving Singh a flush and boosting his stack to 340,000.
