Shawn Wheeling had just taken his seat minutes before after late registering for the main event and was immediately hit with some good fortune.

“It’s great. It’s been a long time coming. I’ve been coming up here for a number of years grinding. I fired a lot of bullets this week and it’s the only one that got through,” he said. “I have a full-time job, but I supplement my income with this.”
He added: “Just putting the time in alone, studying hand histories with friends. I spend a lot of time on forums, on Reddit, just reading, studying, talking. Basic stuff. I don’t do anything special.”
