Paul Snead Eliminated in 5th Place ($9,517)

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Paul Snead
Paul Snead

Shortly After Scott Efron was eliminated in 6th place, Paul Snead was next to hit the rail.

He got it all in preflop with {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and was called by Andrew Lauer who had the {k-Spades}{7-Spades}.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. The turn was the {4-Clubs} to open a straight draw and the straight would come home for Lauer as the {8-Clubs} came off on the river.

Frangoulidis the Agressor

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Dave Stefanski raised to 17,000 from the hijack, he was three-bet by James Frangoulidis from the cutoff to 43,000. It folded back around to Stefanski who called.

The flop came {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Frangoulidis bet 32,000 after a check and Stefanski called. The turn was the {3-Hearts}. Stefanski checked again and Frangoulidis moved two stacks of chips out for a bet of 72,000. Stefanski folded after a few moments and flashed an ace to his opponent.

Snead Pays Stefanski's Nut Flush, But Avoids Larger Damage

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Action was picked up on the river of a board that read {7-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. Dave Stefanski bet about 45,000 into a pot of around the same size. Paul Snead thought for about ten seconds before calling with some trepidation.

Stefanski showed the hammer with the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}, while Snead turned over the {j-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a lesser flush.

Several players at the table complimented Snead on only calling rather than even considering a raise and hence losing the minimum.

"I just knew he had it" said Snead as he saw more of his stack cut away to continue his downward trajectory.

Paul Snead raised to 15,000 under the gun, James Frangoulidis called from the cutoff. Out of the small blind, Andrew Lauer three-bet to 53,000.
