Wilcox Catches Broadway on the River to Snatch a Pot from Sande

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Gordon Wilcox
Gordon Wilcox

Leonard Sande opened to 25,000 from under the gun and two players called, including Gordon Wilcox who defended his big blind. The dealer spread out {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} on the flop, action checked to Sande who bet 32,000 and only Wilcox called.

The {10-Hearts} peeled off on the turn and both players checked to the {q-Diamonds} river card. Wilcox checked to Sande, he bet 68,000 and Wilcox snap-called.

Sande tabled {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for two pair but it was not good as Wilcox turned over {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} for a rivered straight. The defending champ now seats close to the top of the leader board.

Milowicki Drops Zola Down, Barron Finishes Him Off

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Frank Milowicki moved all in for 98,000 from middle Position, Matt Zola shoved over the top for 15,000 more and the two tabled their hands.

Frank Milowicki: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
Matt Zola: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The flop came down {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Zola had a commanding lead. A {7-Diamonds} changed nothing as Milowicky needed some help. The river was an unfortunate card for Zola when the {10-Diamonds} landed on the felt, giving Milowicki three tens and the pot.

Zola was left with just 15,000 and moved all in the next hand with {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}. Jeremy Barron raised on the button with {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}, pushing the other players out of the pot and the two went heads-up.

The board ran out {j-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, failing to hit Zola and he was eliminated from the tournament in 26th place.
