The small blind bet 1,500 on the flop, and the middle position player called. Jewell raised to 7,800, and the small blind three-bet shoved for 33,000. The middle position player folded, and Jewell snap-called.

The small blind got it in with the nut flush draw, but was drawing to running cards against the flopped full house of Jewell. The turn and river bricked off, and Jewell scooped in the pot and scored the KO.

Ricky Doyle Becomes WSOP Circuit Gold Ring Winner with Event #3 Victory

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team is at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana in the Louisville area to live report the $1,700 Main Event; however, that is just one of more than a dozen gold ring events that have taken place over the past week. As such, we thought we’d profile some of the preliminary tournaments and those who struck it big.

Event #3: $250 Double Stack No-Limit Hold’em attracted 485 entries and offered up a $97,000 prize pool.

Coming out on top was 56-year-old Ricky Doyle from Cynthiana, Kentucky, who earned $19,447 for the victory and captured his first gold ring. It took him 18 hours to clinch victory in the one-day tournament.

"I was a little tired but I was just lucky as hell," Doyle said. "I was catching and hitting a lot at the final table."

The win has inspired Doyle to play a bit more, which might include the $1,700 Main Event.

"I just might play the big one now,” he said with a smile.

Stephen Binkley, who won his WSOPC ring right here at Horseshoe Southern Indiana back in 2013, raised to 700 from under the gun, and the button called. WSOP Bracelet winner Alex Ziskin three-bet to 3,400 from the small blind, and Binkley four-bet shoved for 11,900. The button folded and Ziskin quickly called.

Binkley improved his lead even further when the flop gave him trips, and Ziskin paid off the double for Binkley after the turn and river.

James Pupillo, fresh off of a final table appearance at the WSOPC Potawatomi $1,700 Main Event two weeks ago, raised to 600 from middle position, and found three callers, including John Gallaher on the button.

Pupillo bet 1,000 on the flop, and one-by-one, his opponents folded, and Pupillo flashed the from his hand before bringing in the pot.
