After a raise to 20,000 from Frank Covich from under the gun, Kyle Cartwright three-bet shoved for 89,000 on the button and Covich called.

Frank Covich: {a-}{j-}

Covich paired his jack on the {9-}{6-}{j-} flop, but Cartwright picked up an open-ender on the {10-} turn. Cartwright bricked the {j-} river, and Covich knocked out the former WSOP Bracelet winner.

Alexander Fininzio
Alexander Fininzio

Steven Karp raised to 15,000 from early position, and Alexander Fininzio called in the cutoff. Nick Pupillo three-bet to 60,000 in the small blind, and only Fininzio called.

Pupillo bet 55,000 on the {7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop, and Fininzio called.

Pupillo jammed for 134,000 on the {6-Clubs} turn, and Fininzio tanked for a minute before calling.

Nick Pupillo: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Alexander Fininzio: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Fininzio had six outs to pust Pupillo, but bricked off on the {10-Clubs} river, giving Pupillo a big double up.

Pupillo Trending Up

Nick Pupillo

James Connelly raised to 15,000 from middle position, and Robert James called next to act, as did Nick Pupillo in the small blind.

All three players checked the {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop, and Pupillo bet 30,000 on the {9-Hearts} turn. Both of his opponents folded.

Pupillo, who was the Day 1b chip leader, took some hits at the start of the day and saw his stack dwindle down to 100,000, but has been slowly building back up in the last level.

Donnie Phan
Donnie Phan

Brett Apter checked a {7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} board from the small blind, and Donnie Phan checked as well in the big blind. Jasper May bet 28,000 from the cutoff, and Apter folded. Phan tossed in 40,000, and it was ruled to be a call.

Phan checked again on the {q-Clubs} river, and May bet 40,000. Phan called, and May tabled {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a rivered pair of queens.

"You got to me kidding me!" Phan said, showing his {7-Spades}{3-Spades} as he did. Phan was left with 60,000 in chips and busted a short time later.

Jerod Smith
Jerod Smith

James Burns raised to 11,000 from under the gun, and action folded to Jerod Smith in the big blind.

"Yo-leven?" Smith asked before calling.

Smith checked a {j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} flop to Burns, who bet 16,000. Smith check-raised all in for 80,000 and Burns instantly called.

Jerod Smith: {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
James Burns: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

"Looked like a nine," Smith said after the {6-Clubs} hit the turn. Smith couldn't find a jack or nine on the {k-Spades} river, and he hit the rail.

A Quartet of Payouts

Ravi Raghavan
Ravi Raghavan

Robert Georato called the three-bet shove of Josh Snodgrass for his last 50,000, and Snodgrass was in good shape to survive and double up.

Josh Snodgrass: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Robert Georato: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Georato picked up a Broadway draw on the {6-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop, but bricked the {3-Spades} turn. The {j-Spades} river completed the Broadway straight for Georato, and he eliminated Snodgrass.

In rapid fashion, Ravi Raghavan, Daniel Sepiol, and Carlos Loving followed Snodgrass to the cashier.
