Nick DiTrapani Wins Monster Stack for Second Career Ring
The PokerNews Live Reporting Team is in Milwaukee to live report action the $1,700 Main Event, but is just one of a dozen gold ring events at the stop. As such, we thought we’d profile some of the preliminary tournaments and those who struck it big.
In Event #7: $400 NLH Monster Stack – a tournament that drew 353 entries and created a $116,490 prize pool – Nick DiTrapani prevailed to capture a $25,400 first-place prize and his second career ring.
DiTrapani bagged up a big chip lead among the surviving 11 players on Day 1.
“I wanted to try and apply pressure with my stack to the shorter and it was working out until we got five handed,” said DiTrapani, who won his first ring five years ago.
“I try and play as much as I can when the Circuit comes through and this was close enough to home to come play,” DiTrapani added, “It’s been a been a long time coming since my first one and it feels great to get the monkey off my back.”
