Jacquin the Leader

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Alex Jacquin
Alex Jacquin

Axel Jacquin didn't give up after losing {a-}{a-} against {k-}{k-} preflop for a huge pot five hours ago.

The French guy even took his revenge against his nemesis, Fred Rizzo. After a 4x raise under the gun from Rizzo was called four times, Axel squeezed from the big blind with {k-}{j-}. Rizzo and another player called and Rizzo was the only caller after a continuation bet of 6,000 chips in a 21,000 chips pot on a {j-}{3-}{4-} flop.

With 15,000 chips in front of him, Jacquin elected to change gear by checking the turn {8-}. Then he called when Rizzo pushed him all-in, doubling up after Rizzo has tabled {10-}{10-} and the dealer brought a safe river.

Jacquin then eliminated Giovanni Rosadonni by making a Full House on {9-}{3-}{3-} with nines. The WSOP Europe winner was punished after seeing a flop with {k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

Finally, minutes ago, Jacquin smooth-called with {8-}{8-} in the small blind to play a four-way pot and see a {8-Spades}{6-}{2-Spades} flop. Thierry Morel bet 3,000 chips and Jacquin called with his set and the big blind raised it to 11,000 chips, a move that didn't bother Morel who elected to raise to 35,000 chips.

Jacquin then shoved for 100,000 chips, making the big blind player fold. Thierry had another plan and called with {k-}{k-}, giving Jacquin ad huge pot, probably making him chipleader of the tournament at the end of Level 8.
