Day 1a Started
Welcome back to the stunning Casino de Marrakech and the luxurious Es Saadi Resort for the launch of the Main Event of the WSOP International Circuit Marrakech festival, a 15,000 dirhams tournament with a great setup for the final table.
The last survivors of the tournament, which will be streamed from Day 2, have the chance to enjoy a great experience. The casino staff has built an extraordinary feature table in the garden of the beautiful Resort with a terrific view of the pool.
Before reaching the glamorous final table, players have to navigate their way through three days of poker against fierce competition. The 15,000 MAD (€1,350) Main Event offers two starting flights with 45 minute levels. These two flights will be joined into one on day 2, which kicks off on June 22. During the second day we will see 60 minute levels while on the final day players will get to play deep structure with 75 minutes levels.
The World Series of Poker Circuit has landed in North Africa for the sixth time and five rings have already been awarded since the beginning of this festival, six days ago.
The tournament will have twelve 45-minute levels on Thursday and Friday. Players can register (or re-entry) until the end of Level 9. There will be a break after every three levels and the one-hour dinner break is after level nine.
Last time in Morocco, in January, Sonny Franco triumphed in the tournament and picked up his fourth ring (he has now five, a record for a French player). The Frenchman won 1,500,000 MAD for his victory and we will be looking for a new king or queen of Marrakech over the next four days.
You won't miss any of the action because the PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor from start to finish providing updates throughout the whole tournament.

No time to joke around in Morocco. There's already some big action on the tables.
The board was down and David Tavernier bet Pot for 5,500 chips on the under-the-gun position. Seated on his direct left, Tarek Omri 3-bet all-in for 28,500 chips !
After two long minutes, David release his card...

Finalist of the WPTDS Deauville in last december, Mohamed Mamouni has already pushed all-in two times preflop during the last hour.
The Frenchman had the Rockets every time... and his opponent had the very same hand !
Anas Tadini is an eminent figure of the Casino de Marrakech. The Morrocan has won everything here and he is a fearless player... but for now he is the first casualty of the day.
Down to 4000 chips, Anas has raised and was call two times. He barreled on the flop and no opponent has folded. Tadini went all-in on the turn , but Nathan X was just waiting for that with . The river didn't change a thing and Anas is alradey on his way to the cashier for a second bullet...
Player | Chips | Progress |
---|---|---|
Anas Tadini | 30,000 |
David Tavernier is our first chipleader.
The frenchman has busted two players during the same hand. Laurent Lavige was down to 7000 chips and elected to go all-in on a flop with . Tarek Omri has called with and decided to overcall for his last chips when David pushed for a total of 16 000 chips.
Tarek revealed his open-ended straight draw and he was trailing behind the of Tavernier. The turn and the river changed nothing for the two players at risk...
