While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the Main Event and High Roller, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about the full schedule of side events that have been playing out over the past week at the World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah's Las Vegas.

In Event #9: $400 NLH Turbo, 170 runners created a $56,100 prize pool that was paid out to the top 26 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Ryan Awwad (10th- $981), Andrew Donabedian (14th - $841), Calvin Harris (19th - $674), and Charlie Dawson (20th - $674).

In the end, it was Illinois native Alan Cutler who collected every chip in play to capture her first ring along with a $14,100 payday.

Ashraf Chehatal Claims First Ring in Event #8: $400 NLH Double Stack

While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the Main Event and High Roller, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about the full schedule of side events that have been playing out over the past week at the World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah's Las Vegas.

In Event #8: $400 NLH Double Stack, 331 runners created a $109,230 prize pool that was paid out to the top 50 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were John Nowak (12th- $1,668), John Caldwell (15th - $1,378), Leif Force (23rd - $872), Maury Solano (24th - $872), Joo Park (26th - $779) and Arkadiy Tsinis (27th - $779).

In the end, it was Florida native Ashraf Chehatal who collected every chip in play to capture her first ring along with a $23,575 payday.

The victory not only marked Chehatal's first Circuit ring, but also his first career WSOP Circuit cash.

“I feel great,” he said after the tournament was over. “It was a long day, today and yesterday. I just had a good time and turned $400 into 23 grand. Can’t complain about that!”

Chehata’s win came after a fairly lengthy heads-up battle against runner-up finisher Mikes Bairamis. At more than one point, Chehata held a substantial lead, only to see Bairamis win a key hand to even the stacks. But eventually, Chehata wore down his opponent and collected the last of the chips.

“At this stage of the game, getting cards definitely helps out a lot, and I think the cards went my way a little bit.”

Christina Hill Claims First Ring in Event #7: $400 H.O.R.S.E

Christina Hill

While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the Main Event and High Roller, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about the full schedule of side events that have been playing out over the past week at the World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah's Las Vegas.

In Event #7: $400 H.O.R.S.E, 120 runners created a $39,600 prize pool that was paid out to the top 18 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Adam Dembowski (10th- $915), Jeffrey Neeman (11th - $784), Haresh Thaker (12th - $784), Andrew Suszczyk (14th - $696), Michael Pope (16th - $641) and Jason Seitz (18th - $615).

In the end, it was Texas native Christina Hill who collected every chip in play to capture her first ring along with a $10,956 payday.

Hill started Day 2 in the middle of the pack with 20 players remaining. She said she played tight, which is a little different than her normal game. It paid off and helped her reach the final table. She was short-stacked throughout much of the final table. When she got heads up against Ryan Caskey, she was the short stack.

Then things changed, "I got on an incredible rush. He had me out chipped big time," said Hill.

The stud games came up in the rotation and Hill said she was hit by the deck hard, which resulted in a quick heads up battle leaving Hill as the final competitor standing. Caskey's runner-up prize amounted to $6,765.

"I don't think I made any mistakes today," said Hill. "I'm proud of that."

"I love when there are mixed games tournaments because they are not around that often,” said Hill. “I take any opportunity I can to play in those and try to get better."

This marked Hill's second career World Series of Poker cash. Her first was in 2009 at the Caesar's Palace Circuit in a No-Limit Hold'em event.

Ferguson Flops Top-Set and Improves on River for Double

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Chris Ferguson
Chris Ferguson

There was all in action preflop between Chris "Jesus" Ferguson on the button and Mitchell Hecht from the small blind with Ferguson's stack at risk.

Mitchell Hecht: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Chris Ferguson: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

Hecht was behind and needed help to eliminate Ferguson but things got worse after the case ace fell on the {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{a-Spades} flop giving Ferguson top-set.

The {q-Spades} turn gave Hecht two-pair and the dealer added salt on top of the wound dropping another with the {q-Diamonds} on the river giving both players full house's but Ferguson held the better of it snagging the double.

Sanket Desai

Sanket Desai opened for 1,500 from the cutoff and was called by the button player along with Lester Lenart from the big blind.

The {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop was checked to the button player who fired out 3,500, both and Desai called.

All three players checked the {6-Hearts} turn to the {3-Spades} river where Lenart lead out for 4,000 and was called by Desai while the button player mucked.

Lenart tabled {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for sixes full of sevens but it was no good as Desai rolled over {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} to scoop the pot with sixes full of eights.
