While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the $1,700 Main Event, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about the full schedule of side events that have been playing out over the past week at the World Series of Poker Circuit Harveys Lake Tahoe.

In Event #6: $250 Pot-Limit Omaha, 137 runners created a $27,400 prize pool that was paid out to the top 21 spots. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were David Latshaw (10th - $509), David Larson (15th - $432), Jerod Smith (16th - $376), and Vince Burgio (20th - $337).

Steve Foutty, an army veteran out of Las Vegas, wound up beating Gary Neese in heads-up play to win the title for $7,256 and his fourth career gold ring.

“It’s been a while,” Foutty said after the win. “I play a little bit of (Omaha) cash – I’m not that great to be honest. I try to just pick my spots well.”

He added: “I just stick with my feel of the game and it works out well for me.”
