While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the $1,700 Main Event, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about the full schedule of side events that have been playing out over the past week at the World Series of Poker Circuit Harveys Lake Tahoe.

In Event #7: $400 NLH 8-Handed (1-Day), 205 runners created a $67,650 prize pool that was distributed amongst the top 31 players including Jed Hoffman (11th - $1,110), Myron Williams (16th - $812), Cliff Smothers (20th - $723), Jasthi Kumar (25th - $623), and Max Young (29th - $604).

Adam Owen, who won Event #3, was denied his second ring of the stop as he lost in heads-up play to John Hollingsworth, who claimed the title for $16,540 and his first gold ring.

“It feels great. Really good. I’ve been playing poker since I was really, really young. In my early 20’s I started realizing tournaments are way more fun. I don’t really play cash games. Tournaments are where it’s at for me,” the 31-year-old sound engineer said after the win.

He continued: “One thing that’s been really helpful for me is just examining content from people who are doing a lot of online play. When I was having a long run of online stuff Jason Somerville was a big one. Doug Polk. All of their analytic breakdowns have been really helpful for me.”

Roberts Four-Bets, Gets Fold, Shows Aces

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Greg Roberts opened to 2,700 from the cutoff, Gina Stagnitto three-bet to 6,700 from the button, and Roberts went into the tank.

After several moments, Roberts announced a raise, and dropped four blue T5000 chips on top of his initial bet, making it 22,700 total to go. Stagnitto then went into the tank herself.

Stagnitto eventually folded, and Roberts allowed Stagnitto to see his hole cards, which were pocket aces,

KO for Kim

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A player on the button shoved preflop for 13,000, and Dokyun Kim reshoved from the cutoff. All other players folded.

Button: {a-Spades}{6-Spades}
Dokyun Kim: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

The at-risk player got up and immediately left the table before the flop was even dealt, asking his tablemates to let him know if he ended up winning. He wasn't around for the {7-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} runout, which gave Kim the win.
