Grove Pulls in a Pot

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Lisa Karl raised to 15,000 from middle position and Chris Grove called from the cutoff along with Ian Davis in the big blind.

The flop fell {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and action checked to Grove who bet 21,000. Davis thought for a long while, then folded but Karl called.

The dealer burned and turned the {6-Spades} that was checked through to the {k-Diamonds} river. Both players checked again. Karl showed {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} but that wasn't good enough as Grove tabled {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} to win the pot with his pair of aces.

Malebranche Takes Out Kelsall

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
AJ Kelsall
AJ Kelsall

AJ Kelsall raised to 17,000 from middle position and Lara Einseberg called from the hijack along with Joseph Malebranche on the cutoff. Shinya Shimada defended from the big blind as well.

Players saw a flop of {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and action checked to Malebranche who bet 42,000. Shimada called and Kelsall check-raised all in for about 155,000. Einseberg folded but Malebranche reshoved, and Shimada let it go.

AJ Kelsall: {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Joseph Malebranche: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Kelsall had flopped an opened-ended straight draw and a flush draw but Malebranche had flopped a set of tens. The turn brought the {q-Diamonds} improving Malebranche's hand to tens full of queens. The {k-Spades} completed the board and Malebranche raked in the pot with his full house, eliminating Kelsall from the tournament.
