Huge Pot for McDermott

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

With 25,000 already in the middle and {2-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{j-Spades} on the board, Jeff Scott bet 14,000 from the small blind, and Tim McDermott made the call.

The river fell {10-Diamonds}, Scott put another 34,000 in the pot, and McDermott called. Scott turned over {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for a missed flush, rendering McDermott's {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} the winner.

The call with the set of queens has McDermott near the top of the chip leaderboard with one level left to play in Day 1.

Kelly Bluff Catches Azzaro

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Matt Kelly opened to 2,700 under the gun, and Mike Azzaro made the call from the big blind.

Azzaro check-called a 3,300 bet from Kelly on the {6-Hearts}{a-Spades}{6-Spades} flop. Both players then checked the {4-Hearts} turn.

Azzaro bet 10,000 on the {10-Hearts}, and Kelly contemplated for a brief moment.

"I'll pay you off," said Kelly, but it was Kelly getting paid as his {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} was the winner against Azzaro's {9-Spades}{8-Spades}.
