Day 1 of the 2019 World Series of Poker Seminole Coconut Creek $2,200 High Roller Event has come to an end. After 65 entrants took their shot at glory, just 20 remained at the end of play.

David DiBernardi ended as chip leader bagging an impressive haul of 174,500 which is almost six times the 30,000 starting stack. He had the fortune of busting defending champion Jerry Wong on two different occasions, which helped propel his stack into the lead.

Tied for second in chips are John Corsi and Cord Garcia at 124,000 each. Garcia is looking to continue his hot streak as he took down his third circuit ring earlier this week in Coconut Creek.

Ian O’Hara (119,000) and Sam Panzica (117,500) round out the top five chip counts.

Action will resume with Day 2 at 2 p.m local time on Friday at level 13 with blinds at 1,000/2,000 and with a 2,000 big blind ante. Registration does not close until play begins, so there is a last-minute opportunity for players to jump in and join the remaining 20 before play commences.

PokerNews will provide the Day 2 High Roller coverage in its entirety.
