Harjinder Chawla Notches First Win By Capturing Event #2: $400 NLH Multi-Flight
The PokerNews Live Reporting Team is at Florida’s Seminole Coconut Creek to live report action from both the $2,200 High Roller and $1,700 Main Event, but is just one of a dozen gold ring events at the stop. As such, we thought we’d profile some of the preliminary tournaments and those who struck it big.
In Event #2: $400 NLH Multi-Flight, 1,189 entrants over four starting flights created a $392,370 prize pool that was paid out to the top 172 players including Kevin Kamminga (10th - $4,808), Steve Karp (14th - $3,898), Antoine Bahi (28th - $1,673), Eric Salazar (52nd - $1,097), and Ryan Van Sanford (61st - $1,024).
In the end, Harjinder Chawla came out on top to win the title for $65,823 and a gold ring. It was the second-largest score of his career behind the $66,435 he won in the 2016 Seminole hard Rock Poker Open Event #1: $360 NLH Deepstack.
“It was long due, I played a long time. I’m glad I was able to get it through today for the first time,” Chawla said after his first documented win.
He continued: “I ran real pure. I got lucky. There was at least three or four hands hands with a lot of chips in preflop where I was behind. Like queens against aces and I flopped a queen. Fours against aces and I turned a four. I played decent but I made some errors which I recognize. I got lucky at least four to five times.”
