Power of the Check-Raise

Level 5 : 200/300, 300 ante

Mihails Morozovs raised it up to 700 in middle position and was called by Ronnie Bardah in the cutoff and Emerick Wiatrek in the big blind. The flop came {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Waitrek checked to Morozovs who continued for 1,100. Both Bardah and Wiatrek called to see the {5-Clubs} on the turn.

Wiatrek checked again and Morozovs tossed in a bet of 2,500. Bardah called and Wiatrek check-raised to 8,000. Morozovs quickly called and Bardah let his hand go. The {7-Clubs} completed the board and Wiatrek fired in a bet of 15,000. Morozovs went into the tank for over two minutes before finally ditching his cards in the muck.

"The check-raise is so powerful," one player at the table said. "Doesn't matter when."
